Training is comprised of a few different elements.
The Bench Squat and Deadlift are the main 3, in strongman Overhead Press is more important than a big bench, but a strong bench is something all the best log pressers in the world have in common.
Since those exercises use the whole body, you can then start breaking it down to muscle groups within the lifts, and which role they play in each exercise.
E.g. if you struggle to lockout a bench press then consider the strength balance between your chest, delts and triceps. It's likely your triceps are the weak link, so by doing exercises that overload the triceps ie board press, slingshot, close grip. You might also benefit from isolating the weak muscle and targeting it specifically.
